Kwop › Shopify integration
Kwop for Shopify
Kwop records every visit to your Shopify store like a video, then reads your orders and products. You see which visit led to which order, which product pages people opened, what they added to cart, and which products actually convert.
What Kwop adds to your Shopify store
Shopify tells you what sold. Kwop shows you the visits behind each sale, and the ones that almost became one:
- Orders tied to visits. Each paid order is matched by email to the visitor who placed it. Open it and watch the session replay of the journey behind it: source, pages read, visits before buying.
- Product pages viewed. A visit to a product page counts for that product, whether the address is
/products/hoodie, a collection path like/collections/new/products/hoodieor a translated one like/fr/products/hoodie. When the address carries?variant=, Kwop counts that exact variant. - Add to cart. A click on "Add to cart" or "Buy it now" puts the variant in the address (or the product's first one) in that visit's cart, so you know what each shopper was about to buy.
- Products ranked by conversion. Every product and variant ranked by the share of tracked visitors who reached it and paid, with its revenue.
- Discount codes and price changes. Kwop reads your price rules and notices when a price changes, a product is archived, or a discount is added or ends.
Products & plans: your catalog ranked by conversion
On the Revenue page, the Products & plans table lists each product with four numbers from real visits:
- Visitors: tracked visitors who opened the product page or added it to cart.
- Checkout: those who went to pay for it.
- Paid and Conversion: how many of them paid for it, and the share that did.
- Revenue and Left at checkout: the money it brought, and the price of what people were buying when they left without paying.
Sort by conversion, revenue or visitors, and view it by product or by plan (each variant). Products with fewer than 10 visitors are ranked after the others, so one lucky sale does not top the list. Each order line counts for its own product, with its share of the order total.
How to connect Shopify
Two parts: the tracking line on your theme, then a read-only token. Both are shown step by step in the Kwop dashboard, under Setup.
- In Shopify, go to Online Store → Themes → Edit code, open
theme.liquid, paste the Kwop line just before</head>and save. Visits are recorded from then on. - In Shopify admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels, click Develop apps (allow it once if Shopify asks).
- Click Create an app and name it "Kwop".
- Open Configure Admin API scopes, tick
read_orders,read_productsandread_price_rules, then save. - Click Install app, then reveal and copy the Admin API access token. It starts with
shpat_. - In Kwop, open Setup → Connect your payments → Shopify, paste your store address (
yourstore.myshopify.com) and the token.
Kwop checks the token before saving it, imports the last 90 days of orders, then syncs every 10 minutes (or on "Sync now").
What Kwop reads from Shopify
| Data | What Kwop reads | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Store | Store address and currency | Checking the token, showing prices in your currency |
| Orders | Order email, total, currency, payment status, date, order lines (product, variant, quantity, price, discounts) | Tying each order to a visit, revenue, product ranking |
| Products | Title, status, variants and their prices, product page address | Product pages viewed, add to cart, exact prices |
| Price rules | Discount title (used as its code), percentage or amount off, end date | Active promos, offers in follow-up emails |
Only paid, partially paid and partially refunded orders with a total above zero are counted. Kwop only asks for read scopes and only reads: it does not edit orders, change products or move money. It is stored encrypted and used only to read your store.
How an order finds its visit
Kwop matches orders to visitors by email. The Kwop line reads the email a shopper types in your store's own forms, such as an account or newsletter form. When an order's email matches a visitor, the order is attached to their visit and shows up in their journey. If they type their email later, their past orders are linked then. Developers can also call Flow.identify(email).
An order from someone who never visited, or never typed their email on your store, is kept but not shown.
Privacy on a recorded Shopify store
- Every field a shopper types in is masked in their browser. Passwords are never read.
- To stop email capture, add
data-capture-email="off"to the Kwop line, ordata-flow-no-captureon a single form. - Add the
flow-maskclass to hide text, orflow-blockto leave an element out of the recording. - With
data-consent="required", nothing is recorded until your cookie banner callsFlow.consent().
Ask Kwop, or your own AI, about your store
Ask Kwop in plain English which products convert best, where buyers drop off or how much was left at checkout, and it answers from your dashboard's numbers. Follow-ups list the people who were ready to buy and did not pay, with an email written from their visit that only offers real deals, like an active discount code from your store.
With the Kwop MCP server, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor can read the same data, including get_revenue for the product ranking and get_products for your products, prices and discount codes.
Which plan includes Shopify

FAQ
Does Kwop work with any Shopify theme?
Yes. The Kwop line goes in theme.liquid, which loads on every page of your theme.
Which Shopify permissions does Kwop need?
Three read scopes: read_orders, read_products and read_price_rules. Orders are required. Without product access, orders still sync, and products are read from the orders themselves instead of your full catalog.
Can Kwop change anything in my store?
No. Kwop only asks for read scopes and only reads your store. It does not edit orders, products or discounts, and cannot move money.
How far back does Kwop import orders?
The last 90 days when you connect, then new orders every 10 minutes.
Why is one of my orders not shown?
Its email did not match a visitor on your store yet. The order is kept, and it appears as soon as that person types the same email on your site.
Can I connect several Shopify stores?
Yes, on Pro. Each site in Kwop connects its own store, and Pro includes unlimited sites.
What happens if I disconnect Shopify?
Kwop stops reading new orders. Orders already linked stay in your dashboard.
