Kwop for Stripe

Stripe tells you who paid and how much. Kwop shows you what they did before paying. Connect Stripe with a read-only key and each payment from one of your visitors sits next to the visit that led to it: the session replay, the pages, the plan they picked and how many visits it took.

What Kwop adds to Stripe

Kwop records every visit to your site like a video. Once your Stripe account is connected, it reads your payments and ties each one to the person who made it on your site. You also see the people who almost paid, and what they were about to buy.

How to connect Stripe

Revenue tracking is part of the Pro plan. In your Kwop dashboard, open Setup & integrations, click Connect next to Stripe, then follow the same four steps the dashboard shows:

  1. Open Stripe → Developers → API keys.
  2. Click Create restricted key and name it "Kwop".
  3. Set Charges, Customers, Products, Prices, Payment Links, Promotion codes and Coupons to Read. Leave everything else on None.
  4. Create the key, copy it (it starts with rk_live_) and paste it in Kwop.

Kwop checks the key with Stripe before saving it. If Stripe refuses it, you get a plain message; if the key can't read payments, the message lists the access to add. Once connected, Kwop imports the last 90 days of payments, then syncs again every 10 minutes. A Sync now button pulls new payments right away.

What Kwop reads from Stripe

Everything is read-only: Kwop can see payments, never move money. It does not create charges, refunds, customers, prices or codes in your account.

Stripe dataWhat Kwop uses it for
ChargesSuccessful, paid charges: amount (minus anything already refunded when it is read), currency, description and date. Failed charges are skipped.
CustomersThe customer's email, when the charge itself carries none.
Products and PricesYour plans and their prices: one-time or recurring, monthly or yearly, active or archived.
Payment LinksWhich price each buy.stripe.com link sells, so a click on one counts as an exact plan choice.
Promotion codes and CouponsActive codes and their discount, for the follow-up emails and the "changes detected" list.

Your key is stored encrypted and only used to read. If it has no access to Products and Prices, payments still sync, and the dashboard tells you to add that access so Kwop can see which plan each visitor picked.

How Stripe payments are matched to visitors

By email. For each charge, Kwop takes the email from the billing details, the receipt email or the Stripe customer. It then looks for a visitor on the same site with that email. When it finds one, the payment is attached to that visitor and to the visit just before the payment, and it shows up in their timeline next to the replay.

The visitor's email comes from your own site. The Kwop tracker reads the email people type in your forms (sign-up, opt-in, checkout). Passwords and every other field are never read, and typed inputs are masked in the replays. On a logged-in app, you can also call Flow.identify(email). To turn email capture off, add data-capture-email="off" to the Kwop line.

A Stripe payment from someone who never visited, or never typed their email on your site, is kept but not shown in the dashboard. If that person types the same email on your site later, Kwop links their past payments to them at that moment.

Which plan each visitor picked

A click on a buy.stripe.com or checkout.stripe.com link is recorded as a plan choice, and a buy.stripe.com Payment Link is matched to the exact price it sells. You can also add data-flow-plan="price_…" to a button with the Stripe price ID. Otherwise, Kwop matches the plan names, billing period and amounts in what they click. This is what values "left on the table" to the exact price and ranks your plans by conversion.

Ask your AI about your Stripe revenue

Kwop has a built-in chat for questions like "where am I losing buyers?". With the Kwop MCP server (Pro), Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor can read the same data: get_revenue for revenue tied to visits and plans ranked by conversion, get_products for your Stripe products, prices and active promo codes, who_to_follow_up for people who were ready to buy and didn't pay, and write_follow_up for the email.

FAQ

Does Kwop need write access to my Stripe account?

No. The restricted key only needs Read access to Charges, Customers, Products, Prices, Payment Links, Promotion codes and Coupons. Kwop can see payments, never move money.

Can I use a secret key or a test-mode key?

Kwop accepts a restricted key or a secret key, live or test (rk_ or sk_, then live_ or test_). A restricted key with Read access only is the one the dashboard asks for. A test key shows as "Test mode".

How far back does Kwop import my Stripe payments?

The last 90 days when you connect. After that, it checks for new payments every 10 minutes, or right away with Sync now.

Why don't I see all my Stripe payments in Kwop?

Only payments matched to a visitor by email are shown. The Stripe row in Setup & integrations shows how many payments are linked to visitors and how many are not matched yet (hidden).

Can I connect Stripe on the Starter plan?

No. Connectors, revenue tracking, Kwop and MCP are in Pro. See pricing.

Can I connect Stripe together with Whop or Shopify?

Yes. Each site can connect Stripe, Whop and Shopify, and the revenue view reads from all of them.

What happens if I disconnect Stripe?

Kwop stops reading new payments. Payments already linked stay in your dashboard.
